There’s a storm brewing between the Depart. for Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Dept. for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) over what impact wind turbines have on rural house prices. Ed Davey’s DECC is, apparently, trying to put the kybosh on a report commissioned by Environment Secretary Owen Paterson, which investigates whether/how much renewable energy schemes – such as wind farms – affect the values of nearby homes.
