Superstar architects Gehry and Foster to design Battersea Power Station’s High Street

Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners, two of the world’s most stellar architectural practices, have been chosen to design Phase 3 at Battersea Power Station. This will be architect Frank Gehry’s first building in London.

BPS Aerial EastPhase 3 – otherwise known as the “High Street Phase” – will be a retail pedestrian street that “is the gateway to the entire development and the new Northern Line extension”. It’ll include two residential development zones on either side of the High Street, delivering 1200 resi units along with a 200-room hotel, 350,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space, and a 15,000 sq ft library/leisure patch.

Ghery and Foster will be collaborating across the project, using Raphael Vinoly’s masterplan for the 39-acre site.
